Located on beautiful Monhegan Island, Maine, Monhegan Wellness offers a variety of retreats, each designed to address the specific physical and emotional needs of our clients.
With only 45 residents and located 12 miles off the rocky coast of Maine, Monhegan Island is mostly uninhabited, and makes the perfect backdrop for our various retreats. The sound of waves crashing against the cliffs will keep you perfectly in the moment, the ebb and flow of the ocean waves breaking and retreating allowing your anxiety and worry to drift away.

Monhegan Wellness retreats give participants the opportunity to UnPlug and Get Healthy.
For Multi-Day Retreats, The Trailing Yew provides comfortable room and board, breakfast and dinner. The menu is prepared by Monhegan Wellness highlighting local and organic foods whenever possible and served family style in the cozy dining room. Most rooms do not have electricity, so you can truly unplug from technology during your visit. Rooms with electricity are available upon request.
Lunch is provided by Monhegan Wellness. Participants learn nutrition and cooking skills while preparing their lunch.
Retreats provide plenty of time for you to get out and explore the island taking in all of the healing benefits.
Each retreat is built around a specific topic, yoga sessions and workshops are offered daily and will complement the retreat’s topic.

Thai Yoga: Nuad Bo-Rarn, or Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient form of hands-on healing drawing its roots from the Buddhist temples of Thailand, Ayurveda and Yoga from India, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This therapeutic modality consists of a series of yoga-like stretches, which the therapist performs on the clothed client on a mat on the floor. The Thai Yoga that Tara practices comes from northern style Thai massage from the lineage of ITM, International Thai Massage School. The manual therapy ofasana chikitsa, or the use of assisted yoga postures, promotes the restoration of an even flow of life force through the mind and body. It employs the usage of acupressure points that are found along energy lines, to increase the vital flow of prana/chi, or life force. $75/75 minutes
Personal Yoga sessions: Whether you are a beginner or experienced yogi, Tara will meet you at your abilities. Tara offers restorative, Vinyasa flow, gentle, moderate and vigorous yoga for all levels. $60/hour
