Whether you are a seasoned yogi or curious newbie, yoga is accessible to you. Monhegan Wellness develops the principals of yoga: compassion, kindness and self-awareness cultivating greater strength both mentally and physically.

Yoga is not just to be practiced in a studio on a mat, it is a way of approaching the world with grace and love. Yoga is an important aspect of my healthy diet and lifestyle, and I believe when yoga principals are embodied, you can have the happy, healthy life you deserve.

Monhegan Wellness offers yoga retreats to expand and deepen your existing practice or gently introduce you to a new practice. Several retreats include yoga and can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced yogis alike.

You will find Tara Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the top of Horn’s Hill practicing yoga at 9 am.

Drop-by with a mat or towel and practice with her, no fee, donations are appreciated.

(Tara will have a few yoga mats and towels if you don’t have one to bring)

Thai YogaNuad Bo-Rarn, or Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient form of hands-on healing drawing its roots from the Buddhist temples of Thailand, Ayurveda and Yoga from India, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  This therapeutic modality consists of a series of yoga-like stretches, which the therapist performs on the clothed client on a mat on the floor.   The Thai Yoga that Tara practices comes from northern style Thai massage from the lineage of ITM, International Thai Massage School.  The manual therapy ofasana chikitsa, or the use of assisted yoga postures, promotes the restoration of an even flow of life force through the mind and body. It employs the usage of acupressure points that are found along energy lines, to increase the vital flow of prana/chi, or life force. $75/75 minutes

Personal Yoga sessions: Whether you are a beginner or experienced yogi, Tara will meet you at your abilities. Tara offers restorative, Vinyasa flow, gentle, moderate and vigorous yoga for all levels. $60/hour
