Happy New Year

The majority of new year resolutions are linked to health, diet and lifestyle. Often people start the new year with the best intentions of losing the baby weight, lowering their cholesterol, or getting a lean, toned body but without a good plan and support those best intentions are left in the dust just weeks into January.

Don’t let this happen to you!

Make a plan: write out a plan as to how you are going to reach your goal. Schedule in time for cooking healthy foods and working out

Get Support: hire a health coach or join a group to help you stay on track. Group support has been shown to accelerate weight loss and if you have been struggling with reaching your goals a health coach can work with you one on one to overcome your personal challenges.

Daily Affirmations: write down your goals and why you want to reach them. Read them daily to remind yourself of why you are making changes and that you can.

Be Serious: change is not always easy. You have to want it and work at.

Willpower: willpower is a muscle that needs to be strengthened through practice. Eat enough at each meal so that you don’t need to use willpower as often.

Kindness: be kind to yourself. When your willpower runs out and you over eat, just take notice and get back on track. Don’t beat yourself up about it.

These are just a few tips to help you stay on track. Continued practice, planning and support are the best ways to meet your health goals.
