On August 5th and 6th, Monhegan Island commemorated the landing of Captain John Smith in 1614. US and State Senators and Representatives, historians, Native American story tellers and other distinguished guests were here on the island. As a result, the island received quite a bit of press:
The sentiment that stood out to me as I participated with my community members in these interviews, is that Monhegan Island is a very special place. People feel a sense of ‘coming home’ here, many people consider the island their ‘spiritual home’. It is hard to put into words or define but there is something about this place that provides a calming and healing response for people.
I am so grateful to be able to call Monhegan Island home. I wish to share the healing energy of the island with visitors to Monhegan. Whether you come to visit the island for one of my retreats or not, you will experience the uplifting and rejuvenating energy of the place. The Monhegan Wellness team has skills and talents to build on the natural ability of the island to rejuvenate, allowing participants to return to their life refreshed and renewed.
